*Position Overview*

We are seeking an experienced and licensed *PLS Party Chief Surveyor* to lead our field surveying operations. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of field data collection, boundary determination, construction layout, and coordination with project management and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong technical background and a proven ability to manage survey crews effectively.

*Responsibilities*

* Lead and supervise a field survey crew to perform boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys.
* Operate and manage surveying instruments, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
* Interpret engineering plans, specifications, and legal descriptions for accurate field execution.
* Conduct field calculations and verify data accuracy for mapping and design.
* Prepare detailed field notes, sketches, and reports for office use.
* Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure survey deliverables meet project standards.
* Ensure compliance with state laws, company procedures, and safety requirements.
* Maintain and calibrate survey equipment regularly.

*Qualifications*

* Active *Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)* license in NC and SC.
* 1+years of experience in land or construction surveying, including 2+ years as a Party Chief.
* Strong knowledge of boundary law, topographic mapping, and construction staking.
* Proficient with modern survey and drafting software (Trimble, Leica, Carlson, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
* Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
