Job Description

Harford Community College is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support our wired and wireless campus network infrastructure. This role is essential in ensuring reliable connectivity for students, faculty, and staff while advancing our cybersecurity and technology initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

• Install, configure, and maintain network equipment and accessories
• Coordinate infrastructure cabling installations and vendor services
• Monitor and optimize network performance across campus
• Troubleshoot and upgrade LAN/WLAN architecture (1000+ node LAN, 100+ node WLAN)
• Support cybersecurity tasks and ensure UPS performance for network rooms
• Collaborate with IT teammates to deliver high-quality network services

What We’re Looking For:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3+ years of experience maintaining/configuring large-scale LAN/WLAN environments
• Expertise with routing, STP, LACP, Cisco iOS commands, and EIGRP
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, network monitoring tools, SNMP, and Syslog
• Ability to collaborate across Cybersecurity, Server, Telecom, and Endpoint teams

Location Requirement:

Employees must reside in Maryland or contiguous states (DE, PA, VA, WV, DC) or be willing to relocate.
