This is a unique opportunity for an experienced CPA who is ready to take ownership of a market, build a book of business, and grow a team.The OpportunityThis is a senior leadership role for a CPA who wants to:Step into a director-level position without needing to buy in as a partnerBuild and lead a regional office using the firms systems, marketing, and team supportProvide advisory-driven guidance to business clients, not just tax workYoull begin with hands-on work while building the client base, and transition into leadership and review as your book grows.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & AdvisoryServe as the primary advisor for S-Corp, LLC, and small business clientsLead strategic tax planning, profitability guidance, and advisory meetingsReview tax returns and financial reporting for accuracy and insightAccounting Operations OversightEnsure high-quality delivery of:Bookkeeping (QBO)Payroll (primarily Gusto)Sales tax filings (as applicable)Standardize processes and workflow improvements across the officeTeam BuildingStart by providing hands-on delivery while building a client baseBegin hiring and delegating at ~30 recurring clientsTrain and oversee onshore and offshore support staffBusiness DevelopmentConvert inbound leads generated by the firms marketingBuild local referral relationships with bankers, attorneys, and financial advisorsEarn a higher revenue bonus for self-generated clientsQualificationsActive CPA license (WI, MN, or reciprocal) required1015+ years of public accounting experience, including tax reviewStrong technical expertise in small business tax (1120S, 1065, 1040 w/ Schedule C/K-1s)Experience overseeing bookkeeping and payroll workflowsProven leadership ability with a desire to build and mentor a teamEnjoys advisory work and helping business owners growSkilled with QuickBooks Online, Gusto, Drake Tax, and cloud systemsCompensationBase Salary: $135,000-$150,000Performance Incentives:Revenue Bonus5% of new recurring revenue for 12 months on clients sourced through firm marketing10% of new recurring revenue for 12 months on clients you source directly through networkingProfit Bonus: 10% of gross profit from clients under your managementFull Benefits Package:Health, Dental, Vision, & Life Insurance401(k) with 5% employer matchPaid Time Off (PTO) + Paid HolidaysFlexible hybrid/remote environmentTechnology & professional development supportWhy Passageway FinancialWere building a firm that puts people before paperwork where clients feel cared for, team members feel supported, and growth is shared.
