Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee and coordinate the efficient transportation, storage, and distribution of goods. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to optimize logistics processes to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations.
  • Manage transportation, warehousing, and inventory control processes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and customers to ensure smooth logistics flow.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations regarding shipping and logistics.
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of shipping documents and customs paperwork.
  • Lead and mentor logistics staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Utilize logistics software and systems to track shipments and manage inventory.
  • Prepare regular reports on logistics performance and present findings to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS, TMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs procedures is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).
  • Experience with lean logistics or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus, especially in global logistics environments.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with occasional visits to warehouses, distribution centers, and suppliers.
  • May require travel depending on the scope of operations.
