Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee and coordinate the efficient transportation, storage, and distribution of goods. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to optimize logistics processes to ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations.
- Manage transportation, warehousing, and inventory control processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and customers to ensure smooth logistics flow.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations regarding shipping and logistics.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of shipping documents and customs paperwork.
- Lead and mentor logistics staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Utilize logistics software and systems to track shipments and manage inventory.
- Prepare regular reports on logistics performance and present findings to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS, TMS).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs procedures is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).
- Experience with lean logistics or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, especially in global logistics environments.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based with occasional visits to warehouses, distribution centers, and suppliers.
- May require travel depending on the scope of operations.
