Position Summary:

The HVAC Service Manager is a player-coach field leader responsible for the execution, quality, and profitability of all service, repair, PMA, refrigeration, ductwork, and system replacement jobs across the MCC platform. This role combines hands-on job execution with technical team leadership, managing a growing team of technicians and apprentices while enforcing operational SOPs, driving margin, and delivering a best-in-class customer experience.

Technical & Field Responsibilities:

  • Personally runs and oversees jobs across service, PMAs, ductwork, refrigeration, and system replacements
  • Drives technical execution with a focus on diagnostics, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction
  • Manages quoting-to-completion workflow, including site inspections, job scoping, and QA sign-offs
  • Oversees tool inventory, purchasing, truck stock, and vehicle maintenance for all field personnel
  • Ensures all work adheres to MCC’s SOPs, safety protocols, and technical best practices

Team Leadership & Growth:

  • Leads and develops a growing field team (initially 3–5 techs, scaling to 10+ in 2026)
  • Conducts in-field training, mentorship, and ride-alongs to upskill field technicians
  • Plays a key role in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing new techs
  • Collaborates with Sales to ensure seamless field handoffs and dispatch execution

Systems, KPIs, & Accountability:

  • Operates within MCC’s home service software platform (e.g., Housecall Pro) and integrated systems
  • Accountable for weekly team performance and reporting across KPIs, including:
    • Gross Margin >#/li###
    • Job Completion Time
    • Callback Rate
    • Technician Productivity
    • Customer Satisfaction / NPS
  • Leads weekly review of team metrics and outcomes with MCC leadership

Requirements:

  • Class A HVAC License (Active) • 10+ Years of Overall HVAC Technical Experience
  • 7+ Years of Experience in Environmental Systems (Ventilation, Air Quality, System Balancing)
  • 5+ Years of Refrigeration Experience (Light Commercial, Walk-In, Reach-In, etc.)
  • Proven ability to execute jobs to a high standard of technical quality, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction
  • Strong hands-on field capabilities combined with leadership and mentoring ability
