Job Title: GIS Specialist


Shift timings: Monday-Thursday onsite, Friday remote. Candidates must be willing to work in-person 4 days a week.


Duration: 3 years (Possible extension/conversion)
Location: Atlanta, GA 30308

Job Summary:


This GIS Specialist position will be responsible for supporting and maintaining spatial data systems for the Land Department of Georgia Power. The position will include activities in GIS software and application development, data acquisition and maintenance, map production support, QA/QC & metadata.

Job Responsibilities:

• GIS data manipulation and visualization
• Combining datasets from many sources to create cartographic products
• Creating exhibit maps to be used with land acquisition documents
• Producing project update maps and feasibility study maps
• Enterprise data management

Technical requirements:

• 2 years of related GIS experience or recent Geography based college graduate with GIS coursework
• Experience with online platforms including Arc Server or Enterprise Portal a plus
• Proficient with both ESRI ArcMap and Arc Pro software, including editing and some geoprocessing capabilities
• Proficient cartographic skills
• Knowledge and experience working with enterprise GIS databases
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional organizational and project/workload management skills
