Cost Accountant

Roles and Responsibilities:

-Perform cost analysis for materials, labor, and overhead to support accurate product costing
-Maintain and update standard costs; investigate and resolve cost variances
-Partner with operations to monitor manufacturing performance and identify cost-saving opportunities
-Prepare cost reports, margin analysis, and inventory valuation
-Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
-Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling related to production and inventory
-Conduct audits of bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and cost changes
-Monitor inventory transactions and ensure proper accounting of work-in-process (WIP)
-Analyze production KPIs and provide financial insights to management
-Support annual physical inventory and cycle count programs
-Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Analyzing financial data to support strategic decision-making and drive business performance.
- Preparing accurate financial reports and forecasts to inform stakeholders.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop budgeting and financial planning processes.
- Identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement in financial performance.
- Assisting in the evaluation of financial risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Engaging with team members to ensure alignment on financial goals and objectives.
