\n \n\n \nGENERAL SUMMARY:
\n \n\n \nThe Cardiac Cath/IR Tech provides direct patient care assisting the physician during cardiac and invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures. Ensures the safe operation of all equipment used in the Cardiac Cath lab. Works under the direction of physician.
\n \n\n \nThe role you’ll contribute:
\n \n\n \nPerforms imaging procedures/treatments according to cardiac catheterization lab practice standards to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease.
\n \n\n \n• Assist with procedure scheduling and preprocedural patient education/instructions when necessary
\n \n\n \n• Prepares the patient for the procedure and monitors, positions, and assists patient during procedure
\n \n\n \n• Assists the physician throughout the procedure
\n \n\n \n• Assesses the procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness.
\n \n\n \n• Safely operates cath/IR support equipment for all procedures performed in lab.
\n \n\n \n• Cleans and calibrates equipment
\n \n\n \n• Follows proper infection control procedures
\n \n\n \n• Communicates with the physician and other staff members about patient condition as needed.
\n \n\n \n• Using the electronic medical record, performs procedural documentation for all procedures performed in the cardiovascular labs in a timely manner.
\n \n\n \n• Maintains department inventory
\n \n\n \n• Ensures that department is adequately equipped; keeping supplies organized
\n \n\n \n• Orders supplies as per procedure
\n \n\n \n• Assists in departmental performance Improvement activities including collecting and documenting quality improvement initiatives.
\n \n\n \n• Ensures high quality service in compliance with all federal, state, and local accrediting bodies
\n \n\n \nrules, regulations, statutes, requirements, and standards including TJC, measured through
\n \n\n \nquality control, performance improvement and customer satisfaction survey results.
\n \n\n \n• All other duties as assigned
\n \n\n \nQualifications
\n \nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
\n \n\n \n· Must be a Registered Nurse, Cardiovasular Tech or Radiology Technologist. Must have a current Georgia license/certification in respective field. Computer proficiency required. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
\n \n\n \nLICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
\n \n\n \n· Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification OR
\n \n\n \n· Current Georgia License in respective field.
\n \n\n \n· BLS
